American by birth, composer and conductor Carl Davis has lived in the U.K. since 1961, where he has been a successful composer, notably of film and television scores. On his own label are the ballet scores Cyrano and Alice in Wonderland (based on the music of Tchaikovsky), and the film score for the 2008 black comedy The Understudy. The soundtrack for the BBC production of Cranford as well as the Audiobook for the Cranford series are also included in this feature.
