It is quite natural for Bela Bartok to be featured on Hungaroton, a Hungarian record company. Bartok is rightly regarded, along with Liszt, as the country's greatest composer. A child prodigy, his early works, composed while still a teenager, were in the late Romantic style. At the turn of the 20th century, influences such as Strauss and Debussy contributed to his emerging modern style of composition. In 1904 he composed his Rhapsody for piano and orchestra, naming it Opus No. 1 as if to suggest a new era.
