ClassicsOnline presents another installment of recommendations from our founder and Chairman Klaus Heymann. He created Naxos as a way to pursue his love of Classical Music and share it with the world.

For me, this is a dream come true … to see Schumann's greatest work on Naxos. This is the closest Schumann has come to writing a great opera and the work requires large forces. There is very little competition so give this a big push. The recording will also become available on BluRay in high-definition, wide-dynamic-range 96 Khz, 24-bit sound.

Here is the first volume of a 3-CD project to record the composers orchestral works including popular suites from his operas with the Seattle Symphony under Jerry Schwarz. Terrific performances and great sound -- the recording was made in the orchestra’s state-of-the-art Benaroya Concert Hall. There is a lot of competition out there for this repertoire but the playing and the sound here stand comparison with the best.

This is the last volume of the project to have been conducted by Ernst Maerzendorfer, one of the great old men of Viennese music. He sadly passed away in 2009. His contributions to the edition has been highly praised by the critics. He was not only a great representative of Viennese light music but was also the first conductor ever to record all 107 Haydn symphonies. There will be six more volumes in the this series.
