Grieg's overlooked String Quartet in G minor is given a sensitive arrangement for string orchestra with gorgeous results. This recording received the highest mark, a 10/10 review from ClassicsToday, in which they state, "the performances are splendid: bold, confident, ideally balanced, and quite wonderfully recorded." Rossini's Stabat Mater is much lesser known than his other works, but no less worthy. Critics praised this album upon its release, and the performance by the London Symphony Chorus directed by Richard Hickox remains definitive.
