On this Naxos world premiere recording, Arab-American composer Mohammed Fairouz's Native Informant, is performed by leading, international soloist Rachel Barton Pine, for whom the piece was written. Fairouz is a true cosmopolitan, having traveled over 5 continents by his early teens, immersing himself in the musical life of his surroundings. Today, he is one of the most performed, commissioned and recorded composers of his generation.
