Jake Heggie: Out of Darkness - An Opera of Survival In this world premiere recording of Out of Darkness - An Opera of Survival, Jake Heggie and Gene Scheer convey the vast scope of the holocaust by giving sensitive, emotionally charged portraits of those caught in its grasp. These works were commissioned by Music of Remembrance, a Seattle-based organization dedicated to memorializing victims of the holocaust through music. more info
Kullervo - Finnish National Opera Kullervo is considered by many to be Finnish opera composer Aulis Sallinen's greatest achievement. This re-issue, recorded in 1991 prior to its 1992 world-premiere performance, includes a truly stellar cast of Finnish opera singers with Jorma Hynninen singing the title role of Kullervo. Other singers in prominent roles include Eeva-Liisa Saarinen, Matti Salminen and Jorma Silvasti. more info
