This Week's New Features - Thursday, January 31, 2013

Nicolo Paganini - Violin Concerto 5 Paganini defined violin bravura in the nineteenth century. As one of the most flamboyant and spectacular virtuosos of the instrument, he provoked a storm of excitement with his recital and concert performances. He composed six concertos for the violin, the Fifth dating from around 1830. The album also contains two of his most popular pieces, the Moto perpetuo and I palpiti. more info

Sweeney Todd - The Demon Barber of Fleet Street To commemorate its 60th anniversary in 2012, the Munich Radio Orchestra, under director Ulf Schirmer, performed Stephen Sondheim's musical "Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street." more info
