SDG; J.S. Bach appended these initials at the end of each of his Cantatas scores for Soli Deo Gloria, to the Glory of God alone. They signified his deep devotion and his desire to serve God through his music.
Sir John Eliot Gardiner and the Monteverdi Choir and Orchestra use the same initials for the label dedicated to their recordings. Below is their recent recording of St. John's Passion. Also featured are the complete Bach Cantata Pilgrimage recordings, including Vol. 22 containing Bach's cantatas for Easter Sunday, Easter Monday, and Easter Tuesday.
