Marin Alsop's career enters an exciting new chapter with her appointment as the Principal Conductor of the São Paulo Symphony Orchestra.  Although her awards and honors are too numerous to summarize here, we have chosen a few key milestones, and the recordings that resulted from each.  For a limited time, take 20% off any of the releases below.

PROKOFIEV, S.: Year 1941 (The) / Symphony No. 5 (Sao Paulo Symphony, Alsop)

This new recording is Marin Alsops' first with the São Paulo Symphony Orchestra in her new role as Principal Conductor.  Written in 1944, Prokofiev called his Fifth Symphony  "a symphony of the grandeur of the human spirit."

Other Releases:

In 2007, Marin was made Music Director of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, the first woman to lead a major US Symphony.

In 1999, Marin accepted the Principal Guest Conductor position with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra and began recording the complete Samuel Barber orchestral works.
