Marin Alsop's career enters an exciting new chapter with her appointment as the Principal Conductor of the São Paulo Symphony Orchestra. In 2007, Marin was made Music Director of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, the first woman to lead a major US Symphony.
Beginning in 2004, Marin undertook recording the Brahms symphony cycle with the London Philharmonic Orchestra.

From 2002 - 08, Marin was the Principal Conductor of the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, and has been Conductor Emeritus since.

In 1999, Marin accepted the Principal Guest Conductor position with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra and began recording the complete Samuel Barber orchestral works.

In 1993 Marin Alsop was appointed Music Director of the Colorado Symphony Orchestra and remains Conductor Emeritus today.
