Frederick Delius was inspired to write Appalachia after hearing a slave song while teaching violin in Virginia, and recalling a stint managing an orange grove in Florida.  In Sea Drift the influence of Walt Whitman's nature mysticism is explored with a song of love and death.  This release follows up the very popular Naxos release of Delius's Mass of Life from earlier this year.  For a limited time, take 20% off the companion releases in this feature.
