The Messiah is truly the most remarkable work of baroque music ever.

Inspiring and inventive. The scriptures of the bible interpreted with uncanny skill and accuracy by the marvellous sweeping melodies of Handel.

The repetitive style of Handel is absolutely key in this work and lacking that, the opera would not do the scriptures justice.

The story of Jesus Christ the King of Kings retold with all its glory incorporated in this epic masterpiece.

I recently heard one of the Piano Quintets featured on this recording at a concert in Toronto titled Forgotten Romantics. I was very impressed by it, found this first rate recording on Naxos and downloaded it from here. I chose to download it because I have several music loving friends who I am confident will like it as much as I do and who will almost certainly not have it in their collections. I am new to downloading and have limited myself so far to music hard to access any other way. That seems to me the best way to get value from the site while keeping the cost to me under control. As a subscriber to Naxos I can listen to these and any other Naxos recordings on my computer anytime, but when I download recordings like these they make superb, inexpensive yet very personal gifts for my friends.

Thanks a lot for amazing backing tracks, mostly I use them to do some other remixes of them and I should admit they are really of good quality. Only one thing disappointed me-- when the soloist is not playing, there is no metronome or other click sound but from other hand it is possible to do in Cubase for example with any convenient sound.

Tracks I like the most are Summer parts 1-3, Winter parts 1-3 and Spring part 1.
