Heinrich Ignaz Franz Biber's extensive sacred works have many of the treasured stylistic elements of his instrumental music.  Vesperae longiores ac breviores is characterized by a striking virtuoso use of violin.

Yale Schola Cantorum, founded in 2003, is a 24-voice chamber choir of students specializing in music from before 1750 and from the last hundred years. Simon Carrington is the group’s founder and conductor. In addition to performing regularly in New Haven, New York and Boston, Schola Cantorum records and tours nationally and internationally.
