These two new releases from EMI present exciting young women trumpeters at the height of their musical powers. Seraph, from Great Britain's Alison Balsom, features the World Premiere of James MacMillan's trumpet concerto, written for and dedicated to Ms. Balsom. Norwegian Tine Thing Helseth's Storyteller is an album of songs from her recital repertoire.
“Alison Balsom … Britain’s favourite trumpeter produced a sound so warm, so bold, that it seemed more than the hall could hold." - The London Times
“Tine's trumpet is taking the role of the singer. The disc shows off her immense artistry, her range of colour and dynamics and the beauty of her tone.”
