With its repertoire spanning classical to contemporary masterworks, enhakē has won critical acclaim. The group’s 2010 Carnegie Hall recital Made in America was praised in particular for its polish and spontaneity. Grand-prize winners of the Yellow Springs Chamber Music Competition 2009), gold medalists at the International Chamber Music Ensemble Competition at Carnegie Hall (2008) and laureates of the 7th International Osaka Chamber Music Competition in Japan, enhakē regularly performs at the world’s most exciting venues, including New York City’s Weill Recital Hall, Izumi Hall in Japan, the OK Mozart Festival, South Korea’s Young-San Arts Hall, the PanMusic Festival at South Korea’s Seoul Arts Center, and the Promising Artists of the 21st Century Series under the auspices of the US Department of State, and of Costa Rica. A staunch advocate of new music, enhakē collaborates with leading composers such as Libby Larsen, Peter Lieuwen, and Edward Knight, who have written for and/or dedicated music to the group. enhakē has recorded extensively and can be heard on NPR stations across the country as well as on its upcoming recordings on the Emeritus and Naxos labels.
