Arden Trio


Performing with "technical brilliance," "an impressive command of style," and "a remarkable blend of passion and delicacy," the Arden Trio has become one of the most important piano trios on the concert stage today. As winners of the 1981 Concert Artists Guild Award, the Trio's New York debut prompted Edward Rothstein of the New York Times to claim that the Arden seems to be "....not a piano trio at all, but a single musical instrument, played with eminent virtuosity and sensitivity." Subsequent New York performances include appearances at the 92nd Street "Y", the Mostly Mozart Festival, Merkin Concert Hall, the Morgan Library, and most recently at Alice Tully Hall, as soloists with the Little Orchestra Society. Their long-standing interest in bringing chamber music to a wider audience led the Trio to develop a series of programs and activities that they have presented in over thirty states, from Maine to Hawaii. The Arden's community based educational projects extend beyond the traditional concert experience, encompassing a wide range of engaging and informative presentations that have won the endorsement of chamber music organizations throughout the United States. The trio is currently in its third year of a highly successful residency in Sun Valley, Idaho, which is supported by a Chamber Music America Millennium Grant, the Sun Valley Center for the Arts, and the Sun Valley Summer Symphony.
