Patrick Strub

Patrick Strub was born into a family of musicians. He initially studied musicology and psychology in Munich, and subsequently violin in Hamburg and Rome. In addition to his violin studies, Strub received instruction in conducting from Wilhelm Brückner-Rüggeberg in Hamburg and from Franco Ferrara in Siena. In Siena he was awarded the Diploma of Honor of the international conducting course.

In 1984, Strub founded the chamber orchestra »arcata stuttgart,« with which he has since given more than 350 concerts at home and abroad. Numerous radio and television appearances give witness to this fruitful undertaking Strub regularly receives invitations for guest appearances in the USA, Japan and Australia. In 1987, he took over on short notice a concert tour with the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra, as its principal guest conductor, which led to sixteen cities in the USA and Canada. As a result of this tour’s great success, a further USA concert tour followed in 1988.
