Emil Sokach (b1959)

The founder, artistic director and conductor of Cantus Emil Sokach was born in 1959 and graduated from the Tchaikovsky Kyiv State Conservatory. His rich repertoire embraces choral music from the Renaissance and Baroque to contemporary composers, folk-songs and jazz compositions. He has performed world premières of many Ukrainian works, including the sacred cantata Light to Lighten and the symphony Know Yourself by Alexander Shchetynsky.
