Composer, conductor and choral expert, Ronald Corp founded the New London Children’s Choir in 1991. He is also Artistic Director of the New London Orchestra and Musical Director of the London Chorus and the Highgate Choral Society. He is a champion of new music particularly for children, and an advocate of neglected twentieth-century repertory. His compositions for children include Cornucopia and Kaleidoscope, and treble voices also make an appearance in the major choral works And All the Trumpets Sounded, Laudamus, Adonai Echad and A New Song. Many of Corp’s choral/vocal works are now on CD including A Christmas Mass (Hark! Chantage at Christmas on EMI); Flower Songs and other individual songs on Pigs Could Fly (Naxos 8.572113); and a selection of choral music (Forever Child on Dutton Epoch) which was released to great critical acclaim in 2006. In 2009 Corp conducted the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic in a recording (also for Dutton Epoch) of his Symphony No. 1, Piano Concerto No. 1 and Guernsey Postcards. Other recent releases are a selection of songs performed by Mark Stone (Stone Records), in 2010; Dhammapada, a setting of sayings attributed to the Buddha; and his String Quartets Nos. 1 and 2 coupled with the song-cycle, Country Matters (Naxos href="/catalogue/product.aspx?cid=8.572578">8.572578) in 2011. His handbook, The Choral Singer’s Companion, is now in its third edition.
