Update me on new releases by Dillon

Lawrence Dillon (b01/01/1959)

Lawrence Dillon is best known for his chamber music (with commissions, performances and recordings by the American, Borromeo, Cassatt, Daedalus, Emerson and Mendelssohn String Quartets). The recording of Violin Music (Naxos 8.559644) is the first collection of his music featuring the violin as a solo instrument.

Composer in Residence at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, Dillon began composing when he started piano lessons at the age of seven, despite losing 50% of his hearing in a childhood illness. He has won awards from ASCAP, The Juilliard School (where he was the youngest composer to earn a doctorate, subsequently joining the faculty), the Ravinia Festival, the International Horn Society, the American Music Center, CRS and many other organizations. His music is published by American Composers Editions.
