Update me on new releases by Kraggerud

Henning Kraggerud (b1973)

Henning Kraggerud is renowned not only for his virtuosity, but also for his creativity. Violinist, violist, composer, director, professor at Barratt-Due Institute of Music, and artistic leader of Tromsø Chamber Orchestra, he has expanded the boundaries of the world of the classical violin. From performances on the world’s most prestigious concert platforms including Carnegie Hall, the Royal Albert Hall, Wigmore Hall, Beijing Concert Hall and the Hollywood Bowl, to performances with the London Philharmonic Orchestra, Philharmonia, Los Angeles Philharmonic, Hallé, Melbourne Symphony and Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestras, his performances of works from Bach and Mozart to Nielsen and Prokofiev have brought him international acclaim. With a strong commitment to the music, his diverse activities have included a project with jazz pianist Bugge Wesseltoft, Play/Direct engagements with the Britten Sinfonia, a regular trio with Imogen Cooper and Adrian Brendel, as well as cross-genre projects such as a suite of new music by fifteen renowned composers writing from the inspiration of fifteen paintings by Edvard Munch. He is also, with Lars Anders Tomter, artistic director of Risør Festival of Chamber Music, a position he took over from Leif Ove Andsnes. Henning Kraggerud plays on a 1744 Guarneri del Gesù, provided by Dextra Musica AS. This company is owned by Sparebankstiftelsen DNB.
