August de Boeck (1865 - 1937)

Influenced by Rimsky-Korsakov and the Russian 'Five', the Belgian composer August de Boeck was taught by Paul Gilson, with whom he is credited with the introduction of musical impressionism into Belgium. He was among the most distinguished Belgian composers of his generation, contributing notably to music for the stage, choral and chamber
