User's Review: Great Copland recording No one knows how to make American music sound "American" as well as the US Army Field Band! This CD is wonderful! The clarinet solo in "Variations on a Shaker Melody" opens the recording with clarity and simplicity through a warm and crisp tone. The brass fanfares live up to expectations. Charles Osgood's commanding voice is perfect for the narration of Lincoln Portrait. I wholeheartedly recommend this CD if you love Copland or truly American-inspired music. |
