User's Review: Fair Flowers Under Full Moon/North Anhui Suite/Capriccio  Fair Flowers Under Full Moon - short and lively, this is an optimistic piece that bounces along combining aspects of both the typical "Chinese" orchestra together with Western style orchestration. Entirely typical of the more lyrical characteristics of popular Chinese music. North Anhui Suite - sombre brass together with elements of "Chinese" orchestral colour introduce this short suite. As it develops the music varies its mood moving from the bombastic to the whispered. Always restive it finally becomes resolved through loud brass boldly stated. Several pretty tunes are realised along the way. Capriccio - this is a four movement piece written for full orchestra with each movement given the usual charmingly narrative title. The spirited opening gives way in the middle sections to more gentle swaying melodies. And the final movement "Suwu Tending Sheep" seems to round up most of the Capriccio's themes into a concluding statement. Although variable in mood the overall piece is quite satisfying.
