Sao Paulo Symphony Chorus

The combination of a group of singers that have a solid musical training with one of the major Brazilian conductors gives the OSESP Choir particular importance in the musical life of Brazil. The choir tackles the great works of the choral-symphonic repertoire and also performs a cappella in concerts at the Sala São Paulo and across the state, in a repertoire drawn from various periods, with an emphasis on the twentieth and twenty-first centuries and the works of Brazilian composers such as Almeida Prado, Aylton Escobar, Gilberto Mendes, Francisco Mignone, Liduíno Pitombeira, João Guilherme Ripper and Heitor Villa-Lobos. In 2009 the OSESP Choir made its first recording, Canções do Brasil (Songs of Brazil), and in 2013 it recorded choral works by the Brazilian composer Aylton Escobar (São Paulo Symphony Orchestra Digital Label).
