The chorus of the Deutsche Oper Berlin, one of the world’s largest choruses, has been led and formed by prominent conductors and chorus masters. Walter Hagen-Groll led the chorus for 23 years, establishing its reputation. Marcus Creed, Karl Kamper and Ulrich Paetzholdt were three of his successors, and William Spaulding has been chorus master in the beginning of the 2007/2008 season. The chorus was named “Best German Chorus” for the years 2008 and 2009, demonstrating how successful his work has been.
