The Aidija Chamber Choir was formed in 1989 on the initiative of the choir conductor Romualdas Gražinis. The majority of choir members are graduates or students of the M.K. Čiurlionis Gymnasium of Arts. The choir’s extensive repertoire ranges from Gregorian chant to the contemporary. The choir presents some forty concerts a year and takes part in major festivals in Lithuania, including the Vilnius Festival, the Thomas Mann Festival, the Pažaislis Festival, the early music festival Banchetto Musicale, and the contemporary music festivals Gaida and Jauna Muzika. Outside Lithuania, the choir has given concerts in most European countries, appearing with various symphony and chamber orchestras, ensembles and soloists.
