Her recordings of Sarasate’s music for violin and piano (8.557767, 8.570192) have earned the young violinist Tianwa Yang praise for her ‘great polish and confidence’, American Record Guide describing her playing as ‘perfect’. This disc is her first volume of the Spanish virtuoso-composer’s music for violin and orchestra, a delightful survey of some of his most bewitching and demanding creations. Albert Spalding’s description of Sarasate’s playing could well apply to Tianwa Yang’s interpretations: ‘His violin sang like a thrush, and his incomparable ease tossed aside difficulties’.

This is amazing
Review By RZ109372,November 2010

One only has to listen to the pizzicato near the end of "Zigeunerweisen" to realize the technical brilliance of Tianwa Yang's playing. have done comparisons with as many recordings I could find of Sarasate's work, and the CDs in this series by Naxos are easily my favorite. An added bonus is the fact that many of the pieces here are not often recorded and new to most people, including myself. Watch out for Yang in the future, she in one of a kind!

That's fantastic

This was my revelation. I don't take contact with Sarasate's music till now. Today evening I'm going to remember that I was also a violin player so I stop to listen to a violin concert... nothing on the planet what I feel I really put a place for Sarasate in my heart.
