This album plays yet again while I write. Although essentially a collection of vocal works, the actual words (even if I remembered all my Latin!) are not that important. The total sound (frequently spine tingling) is the message --- sheer beauty. Listen in an otherwise quiet environment, especially in the dark. Surreal!

Una antología ideal para los amantes de la música sacra, compuesta por una amplia selección de grabaciones de la casa NAXOS. El criterio de la misma se enfoca en obras corales lentas, etéras y sin acompañamiento en su mayoría. Aunque la calidad no es totalmente homogénea, pues unifica interpretaciones de un coro obviamente aficionado con cantates de las mejores agrupaciones inglesas, pero sin afectar la totalidad del disco. Entre los compositores figuran Fauré, Mozart, Victoria, Palestrina, Bach/Gounod (el Ave Maria inspirado en el primer preludio del Libro I de El clave bien temperado) Byrd, Tallis y Hildegard von Bingen. Un doble compacto que atraerá a novatos y conocedores por igual.
