With 23 recordings to their credit, Richard Hayman and his team know their stuff and here they present music from a number of Hollywood space epics. This is the sort of stirring and mystical music that allows our imagination to take flight to a world of rocket ships, space travellers and exotic alien creatures. John Williams' expertise in the world of movie scores stands unrivalled in recent times and although Hayman is no match for the composer's own recordings, this disc, including additional repertoire, represents an enjoyable sci-fi collection at budget price.
