The F major solo Concerto is delightful work with a vigorous first movement leading to a lyrical minor-key Andante and a jig finale. The double concerto was a favourite form with Stamitz, with long opening tuttis in the slow movements as well as the first. Both works are linked to the sinfonia concertante format as well as to the earlier form of the concerto grosso with its strongly contrasted, lightly scored passages for the solo instruments sharply contrasted.
