Review By Penguin Guide,January 2009

The Naxos Hungarian performance of the Háry János Suite is also wonderfully vivid, with the cimbalom—here perfectly balanced within the orchestra—particularly telling. The grotesque elements of The Battle and Defeat of Napoleon are pungently and wittily characterized and the Entrance of the Emperor and His Court also has an ironical sense of spectacle. The brilliant digital sound adds to the vitality and projection of the music-making, yet the lyrical music is played most tenderly.
