Shiraga Fumiko realizes an exciting interpretation of the adagio of Bruckner's seventh symphony. I prefer it to the orchestra version at least at one point. It makes the discords in Bruckner's score sound clearly. The discords are very often hidden behind other instruments in orchestral version. As a result Bruckner sounds more often than not safe and it becomes an object of romantic nostalgy. I wonder if it is loyal to his intention. At the same time I think piano's sound matches very well the piece's atmosphere. It sinks into itself. So to speak it sounds purer than orchestra. more....
