Pisendel: Sparkling concertos
Johann Georg Pisendel is a much underestimated (late) baroque composer. I haven't heard from him before until a concert announcement in my home town. I got curious, and found this album at ClassicsOnline.
Although some people might classify these concerts as "standard baroque", akin to Bach, Telemann or Vivaldi, it has become one of my favourite albums within a few weeks. This is sparkling, harmonious music, indeed, underestimated in the classical music world.
The Freiburg Baroque orchestra and its soloists warrant a vivid performance, not only on period instruments, but truly in the baroque style.
