More different Mozart
Like other Schoonderwoerd albums, this is a revelation, because he presents very convincing arguments to support his view that what he plays is closer to how Mozart would have wanted it than any other performance. When you listen to Schoonderwoerd's performances, you have to get in the right frame of mind for they are so very different from what we've become accustomed to listen to. When I first started listening, I wasn't sure that I'd like what I was hearing, but I found that the sound grew on me and now what Cristofori do to Mozart & Beethoven are my favourites. I still listen to "modern" performances, but I now with new ears.
Apart from the different performance style, this album, and others from the same source are technically outstanding, with great attention to the balance of the instruments in the orchestra. If you are a Mozart fan, I cannot say other than "get this album".more....
