Powerful Works  

Harold Truscott, like Havergal Brian, was an English composer from a working-class background who was largely self-taught. In the late 1940s he began to make a name for himself from his writings on music, and his compositions. However, he never established a strong reputation because of the prevailing culture of BBC Radio 3, which at that time a favoured modernist works, and his works were never performed.

The works recorded here are powerful and integrated works. If you like Sibelius, Nielsen, Shostakovich or Brian, you will love these works.
