A Brilliant Interpretation of Schubert
Death and the Maiden was the first piece of chamber music I got to know. I have heard it dozens of times and I am always listening out for the great interpretation. This may be it. The Lindseys are very good but this one by the Busch is even better because it makes the last two movements as great as the first two, which most other quartets just seem to do as add-ons. The opening movement of the 15th is very good too. Schubert's tragic soul is exposed by great artists. The "old" sound makes you feel you are with the man. This is live music too which makes the listening to it a special experience. Listen to it or else you may never know the voice of God.more....
