A Spirited Album
The full set of all of Beethoven Piano sonatas are here! Wow! By lamenting during a quiet evening just listening to this whole array of songs, one is able to tune in to the style and meaning of Beethoven's piano pieces. This actually makes a good reference if you are studying pieces composed by the Greatest Great! My favorite track would be the Grande Sonata Pathétique, as this is a piece that I am learning right now and I listen frequently to this track to mimic the subtleties in my playing as well... Peter Takacs's interpretation is brilliant as only in his version I am able to feel the energy cumulate at various stages, which falls into place very appropriately. Somehow now I am able to get the musical idea or as I would like to say, "I am now able to see the thin red wire running through the song". The contrasts between pathos and passion is brought out very beautifully. Of course all the other tracks are just as majestic. This is a great buy. I would recommend this to anyone whose heart bleed when it comes to the strong interplay of emotions, cleverly brought out here... - Logamathi Samarasanmore....
