William Corro

Born in Venice in 1981, William Corrò started working at La Fenice Theatre as a mime, while studying singing. He made his début in 2007 at the Macerata Festival in Verdi’s Macbeth, under the direction of Pier Luigi Pizzi and the baton of Daniele Callegari. He went on to sing in Verdi’s La traviata at Seoul’s Sejong theatre. In 2008 he appeared at La Fenice in Britten’s Death in Venice under the direction of Bruno Bartoletti, and in Macerata as the gaoler in Puccini’s Tosca. At La Fenice he sang in Boris Godunov under Eliahu Inbal. At the Teatro Comunale in Bologna, as part of the Accademia dell’opera italiana he has sung the rôles of Rambonier and Crebillon in Puccini’s La Rondine and Ceprano in Verdi’s Rigoletto. Other rôles in Macerata include Masetto in Mozart’s Don Giovanni and the Marchese D’Obigny in La traviata.
