Svetlana Smolentseva

Svetlana Smolentseva began her vocal training with Tamara Semenova in Moscow. From 2003 to 2009 she studied with Edda Moser at the Cologne Hochschule für Musik, completing her course with distinction. She was a soloist in the Moscow State Philharmonic Chamber Ensemble under Tatiana Grindenko and made guest appearances at festivals including the Moscow Richter Festival, the Rheingau and the Colmar Festivals. She has appeared at Cologne Opera and in 2006 sang at the Kirchstetten Schlossfestspiel in Austria in Così fan tutte, staged by Philipp Harnoncourt. In 2009 she won great success in the title-rôle of Marais’ Alcione at the Vienna Odeon Theatre, staged again by Philipp Harnoncourt. Her repertoire includes Rosina (Il barbiere di Siviglia), Olga (Yevgeny Onegin) and Sesto (La clemenza di Tito). She sang Tisbe in La Cenerentola for ROSSINI IN WILDBAD, and in 2011 sang in Mozart’s Così fan tutte in The Netherlands in a concert tour. In 2012 she sang in Handel’s Giulio Cesare in Moscow.
