Born in Milan, the soprano Roberta Invernizzi first studied piano and double bass, before dedicating herself to singing as a pupil of Margaret Heyward. She has sung under leading conductors in major Italian houses and throughout Europe and America, her rôles having included Armida in Handel’s Rinaldo at La Scala, Milan, and Minerva and Ottavia in Il ritorno d’Ulisse in patria with Ottavio Dantone. At La Fenice in Venice she appeared in Galuppi’s L’Olimpiade with Andrea Marcon and the Venice Baroque Orchestra.
