The bass Plamen Beykov has studied opera singing at the Royal College of Music in London with the English bass-baritone Steven Roberts and the famous soprano Graziella Sciutti. He studied further at the Accademia di Arte e Cultura in Rome with Boris Christoff. His concert repertoire, including Bach's St Matthew and St John Passions, Haydn's The Creation, the Requiems of Mozart, Verdi and Brahms, and Beethoven's Ninth Symphony, has taken him to Italy, Germany, Spain and Great Britain. His operatic repertoire includes the rôles of Cherevick in Mussorgsky's The Fair at Sorochintsy, Don Basilio, Don Giovanni, Don Pasquale, Filippo II, Méphistophélès, Zaccaria, Ramfis, Raimondo in Lucia di Lammermoor, the Dutchman in Der fliegende Holländer, and performed in Bulgaria, Russia, the United States, Britain, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Holland, and Greece.
