Update me on new releases by Lane

Piers Lane (b1958)

London-based Australian pianist Piers Lane has a flourishing international career, with appearances in more than forty countries. Recent successes include world première performances of Carl Vine’s Second Piano Concerto with the Sydney Symphony and London Philharmonic Orchestras, a standing ovation for Busoni’s monumental Piano Concerto at Carnegie Hall, Grieg’s concerto with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, and John Ireland’s with the Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano Giuseppe Verdi. His diverse discography (over forty CDs) includes much-admired recordings of rare Romantic piano concertos, complete sets of Etudes by Saint-Saëns, Scriabin, Henselt and Moscheles, and the Piano Quintets by Elgar, Bloch, Harty, Bridge and Dvořák with the Goldner String Quartet. He has also recorded sonatas by Strauss and Respighi with the violinist Tasmin Little. Piers Lane is artistic director of the Australian Festival of Chamber Music and of the annual Myra Hess Day at the National Gallery. In the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Birthday Honours he was made an Officer in the Order of Australia (AO) for distinguished services to the arts as pianist, mentor and organiser.
