Having studied singing with G. Raimondi and G. Zancanaro, the baritone Pierluigi Dilengite perfected his command of Lieder and chamber music under the guidance of Franco Corelli and Nicolai Gedda. Among the rôles he has sung are Enrico (Lucia di Lammermoor), Germont (La traviata), Iago (Otello), Amonasro (Aida), Gérard (Andrea Chenier), Alfio (Cavalleria rusticana), Silvio and Tonio (Pagliacci), Marcello (La bohème), and Sharpless (Madama Butterfly). He has appeared with distinguished conductors and directors throughout his native Italy and abroad. He was chosen by Pavarotti to appear in La bohème conducted and staged by him at the Teatro della Fortuna in Fano, a production later staged by various theatres and festivals. He took part in the re-opening of Livorno's Teatro Goldoni with Mascagni's Cavalleria rusticana and De Falla's La vida breve. As an interpreter of contemporary music, he has sung in world première performances, such as Werther and Carlotta by Cataldo at Piacenza’s Teatro Municipale. He has also appeared in numerous concerts of sacred music, Lieder and chamber music.
