Born in the Czech Republic, Pavel Bogacz studied music, first at the Conservatory in Ostrava and then at the Academy of Music and Drama in Prague. While at the Academy of Music and Drama, he was a member of the Prague Chamber Soloists. He completed his studies in 1982. He moved to Bratislava and became concertmaster of the Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra, where he remained for nine years, simultaneously acting as the leader of the Bratislava String Trio and a professor at the Academy of Music and Drama in Bratislava. In 1990, he joined the Kanazawa Orchestra in Japan, again named concertmaster, and performed with the orchestra until 1999, while also teaching at Tokyo University. Bogacz has been a member of several orchestras, including the Slovak Chamber Orchestra (Bratislava), Capella Istropolitana, Japan Virtuoso Orchestra, Century Orchestra Osaka and the Groeningen Symphony Orchestra. Bogacs currently tours as a soloist, with performances all over Europe and Asia.
