Tenor Paul Gudas, a Chicago native, made his début with the Lyric Opera of Chicago in Massenet’s Werther in 1971. He later performed with the Opernhaus Zurich for three years, and at the San Francisco Opera for six. In 1989, he made his début with Seattle Opera, where he has performed in numerous productions, including Rossini’s Il barbiere di Siviglia, Mussorgsky’s Boris Godunov, Puccini’s Tosca, Delibes’ Lakmé, and Prokofiev’s War and Peace. Concert appearances include with the Chicago, Grant Park, Seattle and Saint Louis symphonies. Other recordings include Howard Hanson’s Merry Mount with Gerard Schwarz and Seattle Symphony on the Naxos label.
