An especially noted chamber musician, pianist Michiko Otaki has performed and recorded with such renowned international ensembles as the Graffe String Quartet, Kodály String Quartet, Warsaw Wind Quintet, Swiss Wind Quintet, and Martinů String Quartet, as well as with the Brno Chamber Soloists, Slovak Sinfonietta, Brno Chamber Orchestra, Bohemian Chamber Philharmonic and Pilsen Philharmonic. Born in Japan, she graduated from the San Francisco Conservatory and Manhattan School of Music, receiving her performing doctorate from the University of Miami. She is Director of Keyboard Studies at Clayton State University in Atlanta, where she often performs at Spivey Hall. Michiko Otaki has performed at the National Gallery, Weill Recital Hall, Cleveland’s Museum of Art and the Chamber Music Hall of the Warsaw Philharmonic, among other major venues. She has been featured at Festival Miami, the Da Camera Society of Los Angeles, the Chicago Chamber Music Society, BIG Arts, and many other prestigious concert series.
