Marie Terese Letorney

American soprano, Marie Terese Letorney is recognized internationally by both the Public and Press with great enthusiasm! She possesses a voice of rare beauty that has an exquisite timbre expressing both vulnerability and power.

Born in Boston, Massachusetts, she completed her musical education at the Boston Conservatory of Music. The New York Times honored her with its “Debut of the Week” for her New York Debut Recital. Before departing for Europe, she was Laureate of the Pavarotti International Vocal Competition and the Liederkranz Competition. Soon after, she made her operatic debut as Rusalka with the Boston Concert Opera following a successful Tosca under the direction of Eve Queler in New York.

Ms Letorney embarked on her European career at La Fenice in Venice under the direction of Maestro Peter Maag. Today, her reputation continues to expand in both the concert and recital repertoires. Her concert appearances include the Salle Pleyel in Paris, a Concert Tour with the Sofia Orchestra in the leading German concert halls in Munich, Düsseldorf, Hamburg, Leipzig and Berlin and as guest soloist with the National Orchestra of Belgium at the Palais des Beaux Arts and the Koningin Elisabethzaal. Also, she performed with the Radio Swiss Orchestra in Lugano conducted by Lucas Pfaff and as soprano soloist for the Verdi Requiem in Hamburg and Linz as well as the Beethoven’s IX in Bamberg.
