Marianna Prjevalskaya (b1982)


Born in 1982, Marianna Prjevalskaya started her piano lessons with Tatiana Prjevalskaya. After winning a scholarship from the Pedro Barrie de la Maza Foundation, she continued her studies at the Royal College of Music in London with Irina Zaritskaya and Kevin Kenner. Later, she joined the Toradze Piano Studio, becoming a student of Alexander Toradze at Indiana University South Bend and in 2005 entered the Yale University School of Music, studying with Boris Berman. She received lessons at masterclasses from prominent musicians such as Emmanuel Ax, John O’Conor, Piotr Paleczny, Peter Frankl, Claude Frank, Andrezj Jasinski, Boris Slutsky, Dominique Merlet, Choong- Mo Kang, Akiko Ebi, Mikhail Voskresensky and Galina Egyazarova. Winner of the 53rd Jaen International Piano Competition in Spain, she is also a laureate of numerous international piano competitions, including the Paderewski (2007), Seoul (2008), José Iturbi (2008), Ferrol (2008), José Roca (2009), Takamatsu (2010), Sendai (2010) and Maria Canals (2011), among others. She has appeared at important venues and festivals in Tokyo, Salzburg, Rome and Bologna, among others, and performed in Italy, Spain and the United States. As a soloist she has performed with the Galicia Symphony Orchestra, Valencia Orchestra, Granada City Orchestra and major orchestras of Asia and South America.
