After finishing her studies in Vocal Performance with Elisabeth Mosher at the University of Arizona (Tucson), Lydia Easley was awarded a scholarship to Italy, where she continued her studies with Elio Battaglia. She attended his master-classes at the Mozarteum in Salzburg, and has actively participated in master-classes held by Irwin Gage, Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau, Christa Ludwig and Thomas Hampson. With a wide-ranging recital repertoire, she won the Preisträger Prize at the Sommerakademie of the Mozarteum in Salzburg, where she also performed in a concert hosted by the Salzburg Festival. She has sung Lieder recitals for Settembre Musica and the Unione Musicale (Turin), Festival Strauss at the Accademia Hugo Wolf (Perugia), Festa Europea della Musica and the Centro Studi Americani (Rome), and the Società Musicale Francesco Venezze (Rovigo). She performed Elegy for Peace, by the Roman contemporary composer Francesco Giammusso, for the G-8 Summit meeting in L’Aquila, Italy. Lydia Easley has performed with opera companies, orchestras and distinguished conductors throughout Italy. She can also be heard on the Joseph Calleja album Tenor Arias by Decca, under the direction of Riccardo Chailly.
