Loriana Castellano


Born in Altamura in 1981, Loriana Castellano studied with the soprano Amelia Felle at the Lecce Tito Schipa Conservatory, where she graduated with distinction. She won the 2006 Concorso Lirico Nazionale Terra di Leuca competition, and in 2007 the Concorso Nazionale «Città di Adelfi a». Her débuts have included Cherubino in Le nozze di Figaro at the Rome Festival, Rosina in Scarlatti’s Il trionfo dell’onore, Fulvio in Egidio Duni’s Catone in Utica at the Duni Music Festival in Matera, Dorotea in Donizetti’s Le convenienze ed inconvenienze teatrali at the Teatro Orfeo in Taranto and Second Woman/Second Witch in Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas at the Teatro Comunale in Bologna. She has appeared in concerts in China and in New York and in 2010 appeared as Zelinda in Josef Mysliveček’s Medonte in a concert performance in Leverkusen. In 2011 she was Abra in Vivaldi’s Juditha Triumphans in Paris, and Emilia in Vivaldi’s Catone in Utica in a concert performance at the Theater an der Wien. In 2012 she sang in Madama Butterfly in Palermo and in Il matrimonio segreto in Treviso.
